They probably panicked when they saw a dude just casually walking down the track. Don’t exactly want a driver hitting him at high speed. Definitely the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen at a race. Guy literally looked lost.

I understand the panic for the situation, but how the hell did that guy get into the track? I thought F1 races have very tight security measures and whatnot.

There were some pictures on twitter of the gates not having any marshals posted at them. Its quite possible the guy was like hey I’ll go for a stroll.

Except that he could easily take the driver with him, as happened to Tom Pryce. Granted, that guy was carrying a fire extinguisher, but still...
